Bio
"A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." (G.T. Shedd)
The essence
Iryna is an impressionist watercolor artist whose paintings are inspired by world fantasy and folk narrative.
Iryna's works are inspired by international classics, conveying profound meanings and timeless universal archetypes. These tell powerful stories, steeped in symbolism, humor, and satire, intense human emotions, and profound reflections, each addressing—in their own unique way—the theme of existential meaning. Thus, fantasy novels, myths, folk tales, and fairy tales are transformed into distinct collections of watercolor and ink paintings.
Iryna lives and pursues her artistic career in Turin, in Northern Italy. She is currently studying at the online art school New Masters Academy in California.

The works
Iryna's watercolors are created using the loose watercolor technique, which is an impressionist painting style that emphasizes capturing the essence, atmosphere, and emotion of a subject, becoming the preferred medium for the artist’s personal artistic expression and themes chosen to be represented.
Iryna's works stand out for their immediate impact, intense colors and surreal, almost fairytale-like atmospheres, rich of characteristic effects created by the fusion of water and pigment. Among these, the texture – a powerful effect that is present in almost all works, reinforces the visual and tactile quality of the images, creating an illusion that the subjects painted can be almost reached by hand.
By exploiting the freedom of painting technique, the artist's aim is to peek into the wonderful world of the invisible from behind the curtain of appearances, donning the guise of a traveler through the pages of the story being told. Thus, the emotions and impressions experienced are translated into color, material, and light on a blank sheet of paper so that they can be touched, lived again, and remembered. And nothing in the world offers more exciting travel opportunities than good, meaningful stories worth living.
